WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Pennsylvania College of Technology is excited to announce a new partnership with Insight PA Cyber Charter School. This collaboration will kick off in the 2025-26 school year, marking the college’s first cyber charter dual enrollment program.
Insight PA is a K-12 online school that provides virtual learning for students across Pennsylvania. This partnership is part of the state’s Dual Credit Innovation Grant Program, which aims to broaden educational opportunities for high school students. It allows Penn College to offer more courses and enhance professional development for educators.
Through the dual enrollment program, students can take college-level classes without paying tuition. There are 58 courses available in total, covering areas in both technical and general education. This initiative lets students earn credits that might transfer to any college or university later on.
“Dual enrollment helps save money and time while building student confidence,” said Chuck D. Crews, assistant director for secondary partnerships at Penn College. He explained that 18 of these courses will be available online, recognizing the growing trend toward virtual education. Insight PA will start with classes like Medical Terminology and Introduction to Business, with plans to expand offerings each year.
Audra E. Mazzante, director of career education for Insight PA, highlighted the importance of this partnership. “Offering college credit in high school bridges the gap for our students, exposing them to higher education while alleviating financial stress on families,” she noted.
This move reflects a broader trend in education. According to a 2022 report by the National Center for Education Statistics, dual enrollment programs have grown by 52% over the past decade, showcasing how schools respond to students’ needs and the evolving job market.
