University Park, Pa. — Penn State Extension is launching a new webinar series called the “Food Safety Manager Certification Prep Course.” This course aims to help food industry professionals understand food safety and prepare for certification.
The sessions will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 18 and 25. It’s perfect for restaurant managers, chefs, caterers, and food service managers, as well as local health officials and inspectors who want to enhance their food safety knowledge.
Participants should be comfortable with Zoom. The course features live instruction from food safety experts, ensuring an interactive learning experience.
This training gets you ready for exams like ServSafe and others accredited by the American National Standards Institute. It also meets the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s requirements for the Food Employee Certification Act.
During the course, you’ll cover important topics, including:

- Understanding foodborne illnesses and allergens
