VCSU’s Free Application Month: Making College Accessible
Valley City State University (VCSU) is excited to launch Free App Month from January 20 to February 20, 2026. During this time, students can apply for admission without paying an application fee. This initiative aims to make college more accessible for everyone.
Erin Heide, the director of enrollment services at VCSU, explains, “We want to remove barriers and allow students to pursue their dreams without the stress of application costs.” This effort encourages more students to consider higher education.
VCSU has a lot to offer. With over 65 academic programs and a friendly campus environment, students find a supportive community. The student-to-faculty ratio of 11:1 ensures personalized attention from instructors, helping students thrive in their studies.
To apply, prospective students can visit VCSU’s application page. When applying between January 20 and February 20, students should use the promo code “Vikings2026” to waive the application fee. This offer is available for degree-seeking undergraduate students from the U.S. and Canada, including both incoming freshmen and transfer students.
In recent years, studies show that rising application costs can deter many potential students. By eliminating these fees, VCSU not only simplifies the process but also opens doors for those who might have felt discouraged.
