Giants and Rams: Speculation About a Trade
There’s buzz around a possible trade between the Giants and Rams. Many are curious if the Giants could solve their quarterback dilemma by acquiring Matthew Stafford instead of going through the draft. Analyst Jeremiah noted that while he isn’t confirming these rumors, it’s definitely sparking a lot of interest around the league.
“People are intrigued about what’s next for Stafford and the Rams,” Jeremiah said. “The Rams haven’t made it clear that he’s staying, which leaves room for speculation.” The question of what it would cost to get Stafford is still open, but imagining Stafford leading the Giants excites fans. Jeremiah mentioned thinking about this while predicting that the Giants would select Travis Hunter in his mock draft.
He reflected on the pressure the Giants’ head coach and general manager face. “With a team in your division winning the Super Bowl, you need to shake things up,” Jeremiah said. “Imagine Stafford throwing to players like Malik Nabers and Travis Hunter. That could create a lot of energy in New York.” He also wondered if the Giants might try to bring in star receiver Cooper Kupp as part of the deal.
Lions Look for a New Edge Rusher
The Lions need to find a strong edge rusher to work alongside Aidan Hutchinson. Myles Garrett from the Browns, one of the best in the game, has requested a trade to a contender. The Browns haven’t agreed, but if that changes, Jeremiah suggested the Lions should jump at the chance.
“Detroit makes a lot of sense for Garrett,” he said. “If the Browns decide to move him, Detroit is ready to compete for a championship. It could be the missing piece they need.” Jeremiah believes the Lions should be aggressive in pursuing this move, knowing it might bring success to Detroit.
If the Lions can’t land Garrett and stay with their 28th pick, Jeremiah thinks they could consider players like James Pearce Jr. from Tennessee or Shemar Stewart from Texas A&M as potential fits.
49ers Focus on Building Strength
After a lackluster 2024 season, the 49ers may focus on strengthening their roster. The upcoming NFL Scouting Combine will play a key role in this process. Sometimes, players who shine at the Combine can rise up the draft board, which could benefit San Francisco. Jeremiah mentioned Mason Graham, a talented defensive tackle, who might fall into their hands.
“At pick 11, the 49ers could get a great player,” he noted. “I’m eager to see how Graham performs in the spring. His game tape is impressive, but he may not excel in physical tests.” If Graham slips past the top 10, he could be a perfect fit for the 49ers.
If that doesn’t work out, trading down could be a smart move for the 49ers. Jeremiah highlighted another potential target, Walter Nolen from Ole Miss, who fits well into their defensive scheme.
