As of May 21, Tara Hackerd has stepped into the position of Acting Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS). In this role, she will guide nursing operations and work closely with various teams to enhance patient care throughout the organization.
Tara’s journey in nursing began in 2003. She started as a student nurse, fueled by a passionate commitment to patient-focused service. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lakeview College of Nursing and later obtained her Master’s in Nursing Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Over the years, Tara has built a varied and impactful career in healthcare leadership. She began her professional life as a Registered Nurse in a Community Living Center, where she quickly rose to Nurse Manager. Her expertise expanded into acute mental health care, again stepping up as a Nurse Manager. This experience showcases her talent for leading diverse teams in demanding environments.
In her pursuit of quality and safety in healthcare, Tara moved into a leadership position as Chief of Quality Management. Here, she played a crucial role in enhancing performance and promoting safety for patients.
In August 2024, she took on additional responsibilities as Deputy, ADPCS. With her solid foundation in nursing and a commitment to high-quality care, Tara leads with compassion and experience. As Acting ADPCS, she aims to inspire a shared sense of purpose across the organization.
