DHL Supply Chain and iglo Deutschland have renewed their logistics partnership for five more years. This collaboration is significant, as it has lasted for over 25 years, continuously evolving into a comprehensive logistics model.
DHL will keep managing the main frozen food warehouse and logistics at iglo’s facility in Reken, Westphalia. This site is crucial for distributing iglo products across Germany. DHL handles the transport of frozen goods, ensuring they maintain high quality from production to delivery.
Since 2021, DHL has exclusively overseen on-site logistics at the Reken facility. This partnership highlights their commitment to efficiency and sustainability. DHL is adopting lower-emission transport methods, such as electric trailers and trucks fueled by LPG and biofuel.
Katrin Hölter, CEO of DHL Supply Chain Germany & Alps, emphasized that this extension showcases the strong trust between the two companies. Volker Büttel, CEO of iglo Deutschland, praised DHL as a dependable partner. Together, they plan to enhance supply chain efficiency, boost flexibility, and minimize emissions, ensuring a steady supply of frozen food across the country.
Experts note that as businesses prioritize sustainability, partnerships like this one between DHL and iglo set a standard for the industry. A recent report from the World Economic Forum highlighted that logistics companies are increasingly using innovative solutions to reduce their carbon footprint, making this partnership a step in the right direction for both companies and the planet.
