India’s Pharma Leadership Shines at iPHEX 2025

On September 4, 2025, India kicked off the 11th edition of the International Exhibition on Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare (iPHEX 2025) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This event is organized by the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India, known as Pharmexcil.

Piyush Goyal, the Minister for Commerce and Industry, highlighted India’s vital role in global healthcare during the opening session. He noted that India is often called the “Pharmacy of the World” because of its commitment to providing affordable and quality medicines. Goyal stressed the importance of international collaboration to strengthen health systems across the globe.

Bhavin Mehta, Chairman of iPHEX and Vice Chairman of Pharmexcil, shared impressive statistics. He noted that India’s pharmaceutical exports have grown remarkably, more than doubling from $14.9 billion in FY14 to $30.5 billion in FY25. This growth reflects the sector’s resilience and increasing trust from global markets. “We are shaping the future of Indian pharma as the Partner of First Choice for global healthcare,” he stated.

Dr. Rajeev Singh Raghuvanshi, the Drug Controller General of India, emphasized the need for strong regulatory practices. He reassured international partners of India’s dedication to meeting global quality standards.

Namit Joshi, Chairman of Pharmexcil, added that iPHEX has become a key platform for pharmaceutical exports. He described it as a bridge connecting policy, regulation, and market opportunities. This gives buyers confidence that Indian exporters provide not just low-cost medicines, but also reliable quality.

iPHEX 2025 carries the theme “Powering Healthcare, Connecting Markets.” It unites industry leaders, policymakers, and global stakeholders to foster collaboration and open new trade opportunities, reinforcing India’s pivotal role in the future of global healthcare.

Looking at recent trends, the Indian pharmaceutical market is expected to grow significantly. According to a report from the Indian Brand Equity Foundation, the sector is projected to reach $130 billion by 2030. This growth will be fueled by increasing healthcare demands and advancements in technology. The rise of telemedicine and e-pharmacies is also transforming how patients access medications.

Overall, iPHEX 2025 isn’t just an exhibition; it’s a reflection of India’s commitment to global health. The growth and collaboration showcased at this event underline India’s position as a reliable partner in healthcare.
