Unlocking India’s Economic Future: President Murmu Highlights ‘Atmanirbharta’ and ‘Swadeshi’ Principles

New Delhi: On the eve of the 77th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized that ‘Atmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) and ‘Swadeshi’ (indigenous) are key to shaping India’s economic future. She praised the nation’s youth, highlighting their talent and potential to energize India on the global stage.

“Our Constitution is the heart of the largest republic in history, promoting justice, liberty, and equality,” Murmu stated. She echoed the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in unifying the nation, especially as we celebrate his 150th birth anniversary.

The President also acknowledged the cultural significance of “Vande Mataram,” India’s national song, which inspires patriotism. “Composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, it captures the spirit of a united India,” she noted. Recent commemorations have sparked renewed interest in this song and its message.

Murmu paid tribute to India’s armed forces and frontline workers who safeguard the nation daily. “Our healthcare professionals, farmers, and educators are essential in shaping our future,” she said, emphasizing their contributions to society.

Highlighting the importance of voting, she remarked on how increased participation, especially among women, enhances our democracy. “As Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar said, voting leads to political education,” she added.

In matters of defense, President Murmu cited last year’s Operation Sindoor, a strategic success against terror infrastructure. She noted that this operation demonstrated India’s growing self-reliance in defense.

The President expressed optimism about India’s youth driving progress. With supportive policies aimed at the younger generation, she believes India can achieve its vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047.

As we reflect on this Republic Day, it becomes clear that the collective effort of every citizen reinforces our unity and determination. The call for ‘Nation First’ rings loudly, reminding us that our shared efforts can create a brighter future.
