Darren Beckett brings over 25 years of expertise in hardware and software development, especially in the AM and semiconductor sectors.
FREMONT, CA, Jan 30, 2025 – Velo3D, Inc. has welcomed Darren Beckett as its new chief technology officer.
Beckett has a long history in technology leadership, with most of his two-and-a-half decades spent at Intel Corporation. He will oversee all technology initiatives at Velo3D, guiding both internal projects and external partnerships.

Before joining Velo3D, Beckett served as VP of engineering at Woodruff Scientific and was CTO at Sigma Additive Solutions, where he helped develop their quality control technologies for additive manufacturing. His extensive background at Intel also focused on 3D manufacturing and innovative technologies.

Founded in 2014, Velo3D aims to help engineers create challenging designs using metal 3D printing. The company shipped its first Sapphire printers in 2018 and rapidly grew in sales by 2019. In 2021, it introduced the large format Sapphire XC printer, which has gained significant popularity.
As CTO, Beckett will lead Velo3D’s Research and Development and oversee advanced manufacturing technology initiatives.
