Unlocking Innovations: IEvD’s Impact at COP30

The EBRD Independent Evaluation Department (IEvD) is excited to back Evidence for Climate Action (E4CA) at COP30. This event will gather various organizations to share the latest insights on climate action. Sessions will cover topics like adaptation, climate finance, forestry management, and the important roles of Indigenous peoples and local communities.

E4CA serves as a global hub for sharing collective evidence on climate initiatives, with participation from over 20 organizations. As COP30 emphasizes swift implementation, understanding what works and what doesn’t is crucial for progress.

If you’re attending COP30, we encourage you to visit the E4CA pavilion and join our sessions. If you can’t make it in person, you can still participate virtually.

Two key virtual sessions are organized by IEvD:

  • Tuesday, November 11, 2025: Delivering Sustainability and Climate Resilience through Investments in Urban Environment Register here.
  • Thursday, November 13, 2025: Counting Money vs. Counting Impact – Evaluating EBRD’s Green Economy Register here.

Recent studies show that climate risks can cost economies billions if not addressed. According to the IPCC, failing to act swiftly could lead to a global GDP loss of up to 18% by 2050. Experts stress that collaborative platforms like E4CA can help share successful strategies.

Social media reactions have been optimistic, with many calling for a united effort in tackling climate issues, showcasing a growing awareness and demand for impactful actions.
