Dash In is stepping up its food game! This convenience-store chain operates over 55 locations across Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware, and it’s making some exciting changes.
With plans to unify its menu and boost food quality, the company is also investing in the latest foodservice technology. They are looking closely at food trends to figure out what customers truly enjoy.
Owned by the Wills Group, which also runs Splash In ECO car washes and SMO Motor Fuels, Dash In is committed to providing excellent food and service.
Todd Fangman, who manages food and beverages for Dash In, shared some insights about their goals for the coming year.
What are customers craving?
Todd explains that shoppers want restaurant-quality meals made with fresh ingredients. At Dash In, they aim to provide tasty food quickly and at a great price.
How is Dash In improving its healthy options?
Dash In offers wraps, salads, and vegetarian meals while focusing on quality. They make burgers and breakfast sausage from scratch and use fresh ingredients like cracked eggs in their breakfast sandwiches. Everything from grilled veggies to salads is prepared daily.
What new items can we expect in 2025?
This year, Dash In focuses on enhancing its core menu items and finding ways to serve customers better and faster. They plan to add promotional pricing and introduce some fresh ideas at their kiosks.
How do you choose new menu items?
Todd highlights that customer feedback drives their menu choices. They analyze sales data and seasonal trends to see what works best. By innovating with available ingredients and occasionally refreshing items that have seen declining sales, they keep the menu appealing and relevant.
Is the menu consistent across all locations?
Dash In is striving for consistency. They’ve introduced a standardized menu across many stores and plan to update older locations to match. For example, they’re replacing a region-specific item with a more universally appealing option while ensuring high-quality ingredients.
How do you maintain quality at all locations?
To ensure quality, Dash In holds regular training sessions for managers and staff. These sessions combine classroom instruction with hands-on practice. They also use technology to help staff follow recipes accurately. Ongoing checks by area managers further support maintaining food quality everywhere.
