The film uses archival footage and stories from key figures in U.S. climate policy to highlight the choices that have impacted today’s climate crisis. The directors Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk, along with Michelle Deatrick, Chair of the Democratic National Committee’s Environment and Climate Crisis Council, will discuss the film’s insights and what they mean for current climate efforts.
As part of the Earth Month celebration, Democrats Abroad offers free streaming of the documentary from April 6 to April 20. This allows viewers to watch before the discussion and revisit it afterward.
Meet the Filmmakers:
Bonni Cohen and Jon Shenk are well-known documentary filmmakers. Cohen co-founded Actual Films and has produced award-winning documentaries like the Emmy-winning Athlete A and the Oscar-nominated Lead Me Home. Shenk has also directed significant works, including An Inconvenient Sequel.
Michelle Deatrick is an influential environmental leader. She chairs the first-ever DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis and is a dedicated advocate for climate action. Her experience includes work on national environmental boards and local initiatives.
This event promises to shed light on important lessons for fighting the climate crisis today. The panel discussion will take place on April 15 at 12:00 PM ET.
