Google has just rolled out some exciting new features for NotebookLM, including Video Overviews and a fresh Studio interface.
With Video Overviews, you can create narrated presentations using content from your sources. This feature pulls in images, diagrams, quotes, and numbers to build your slides. You can also tailor these presentations for specific topics or audiences, making it versatile for various users. For now, the feature supports English, but more languages are expected soon.
In addition to Video Overviews, the Studio interface has been redesigned. The new layout includes tiles for Audio Overviews, Video Overviews, Mind Maps, and Reports like Briefing docs, Study Guides, FAQs, and Timelines. This makes it easy to see what you have created at a glance.
You can now produce multiple outputs of the same type. For example, create multiple Audio Overviews from different sources, making it useful for collaborative projects or study sessions. This means a team can generate content tailored to different roles with minimal effort.
If you’re managing a notebook meant for sharing, consider creating Audio Overviews in various languages. This will help make your content more accessible to a global audience. Students can also benefit by focusing on different subjects through tailored videos and mind maps.
Additionally, you can easily listen to an Audio Overview while working on your Study Guide or Mind Map. Another handy update allows you to add multiple links at once; just separate the URLs with a line break or space.
Recent statistics show that 70% of people prefer visual content over text, making these updates even more relevant. As we move forward, incorporating audio and video in educational tools seems to be a growing trend, with programs like NotebookLM leading the way.
