Local students received scholarships this fall from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas. This year, over $5.1 million was distributed across 3,768 scholarships.
Among the recipients were Alexey Moussikhine, who earned the Britton Redifer Endowed Geology Scholarship and the Vernon Peppard Scholarship, Charis Morasch, awarded the Roy and Christine Sturgis International Honors Scholars Program Scholarship, and Ella Cox, who received both the J. Margaret Roberts Endowed Award and the Sturgis Grant for Honors Scholars.
Dean Brian E. Raines emphasized the college’s mission: “Our goal is to provide a transformational education. Support from donors helps reduce financial strain, allowing students to focus on their studies.” He expressed gratitude towards the donors, noting the positive impact these scholarships have on the community.
This funding comes from various supporters, including alumni and faculty, aimed at students in fields like arts, natural sciences, and social sciences.
