Recently, University President Brian Sandoval and Hanyang University President Ki-jeong Lee signed a partnership agreement in a ceremony at Morrill Hall. “Teaming up with leading institutions in Asia boosts our academic and research programs,” Sandoval said. “It shows our commitment to preparing students for success in a connected world.”
These partnerships are part of the University’s E.L. Cord Center for Global Engagement. By incorporating these relationships into the Center’s mission, the University of Nevada reaffirms its role as a leader in international education. “With new ties in Japan and South Korea, we are forming strategic alliances that enhance our global branding,” said Mehmet S. Tosun, chief international officer. “We’re dedicated to our global engagement efforts.”

The timing of these partnerships coincides with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) Trade Mission. It took place over six days, with activities in Seoul and Tokyo, focusing on the lithium battery supply chain and clean energy technologies.
