Unlocking Opportunities: PM Modi’s US Visit to Address Trade, Tech Transfer, and Migration Challenges, Says USISPF Chief

New Delhi [India], February 9 (ANI): Mukesh Aghi, the President and CEO of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF), called Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming trip to the United States “very important.” He said the visit will focus on enhancing relations in areas like trade, technology, and illegal immigration.

Aghi pointed out that early discussions between PM Modi and President Donald Trump are crucial. He believes that aligning on key goals will benefit both economies.

“This is a significant visit,” Aghi remarked. “It’s about ensuring ongoing geopolitical alignment. The understanding between the two nations regarding trade is vital. We need to focus on economic agendas and technology sharing.” He also mentioned that illegal migration would be part of the discussions.

He emphasized that it’s essential for the PM to meet with President Trump right away to set expectations for the relationship moving forward.

Trade is a key topic for the visit. Aghi confirmed, “They will absolutely discuss trade. A trade partnership could be on the table.” The certainty in his voice highlighted the importance of this aspect of the talks.

Prime Minister Modi is set to visit the US on February 12 and 13, during which he will meet with President Trump and engage with senior US leaders.

This marks PM Modi’s first visit to the US since President Trump’s inauguration. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri highlighted that the trip, just weeks after the new administration took over, demonstrates the importance of the India-US partnership.

“At the invitation of President Trump, PM Modi will have an official visit on the 12th and 13th of February,” Misri noted.
