CANAAN, Conn. — A fresh approach to health and wellness is now available just across the border in Connecticut. Fusion Health, a new center, combines physical therapy with holistic practices.
Owner Jane Simonds, a seasoned physical therapist, wanted to enhance her clients’ well-being and broaden access to her services. After 15 years in outpatient therapy, she felt something was missing.
“I realized I wasn’t offering a complete solution,” she shared. “I wanted to help people in a deeper way, so I turned to a more holistic approach.” This shift involves viewing health from many angles rather than just the one issue at hand.
“When someone comes in with shoulder pain, I consider all aspects of their life,” Simonds explained. “What’s their nutrition like? How is their emotional health affecting their pain? This comprehensive view can lead to better outcomes.”
With over 20 years of clinical experience, Simonds offers various services. At Fusion Health, clients can access physical therapy, life coaching, nutrition advice, reiki, cryotherapy, and more. Soon, salt cave therapy will also be available.
Some services might be covered by health insurance, making these holistic options more accessible. The center operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with personalized scheduling for certain services.
Holistic approaches are gaining traction in the wellness community. A recent survey by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health found that about 30% of adults in the U.S. use complementary health approaches, showing growing interest in alternatives to traditional medicine.
Jane’s vision for Fusion Health highlights the importance of treating the whole person and not just individual symptoms. By looking at the big picture, her goal is to help clients achieve lasting health and happiness.
