MOBILE, Ala. – A new agreement is paving the way for students at Bishop State Community College to easily transfer their associate degree credits to Tuskegee University. This partnership aims to enhance educational opportunities for students seeking to advance their studies.
On Wednesday, officials from both schools met at Bishop State’s downtown Mobile campus to sign a memorandum of understanding.
This new agreement means that students who earn their associate degree at Bishop State can transfer up to 64 credit hours to Tuskegee University. By creating a more straightforward transfer process, students can smoothly continue their education.”
Olivier Charles, Bishop State’s president, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “Through partnerships such as this, we are guiding our students toward a place where they can flourish. This initiative opens doors for our students, allowing them to follow their aspirations and make a positive impact on their communities,” he said.
Additionally, Tuskegee University has committed to offering three transfer scholarships annually for eligible students. Current Bishop State students will also benefit from access to athletic events, learning resources, career services, and mentorship programs.
Tuskegee University President Dr. Mark A. Brown emphasized the significance of the partnership. “Our graduates are recognized for their influence and contributions to society. By collaborating with Bishop State, we can provide students with a broader range of educational options, setting them on a path toward their desired careers,” he stated.
