CLEMSON, S.C. (November 17, 2025) – The University of North Alabama men’s basketball team faced a tough challenge against the Clemson Tigers, falling 81-61. It was a high-stakes game inside Littlejohn Coliseum.
The Lions (2-3) started strong, trading leads early. They even outscored Clemson (4-1) in the second half. However, Clemson’s excellent shooting in the first half gave them a commanding lead by halftime. Clemson ranked 27th in KenPom ratings this season, making them the highest-ranked opponent UNA has faced.
Despite the loss, UNA’s bench made a significant impact. They scored 22 points, with DarKaun King hitting a career-high of seven points. Another bright spot was UNA forcing Clemson into 12 turnovers, a feat given Clemson’s previous average of just six turnovers per game. Kedar Bodie shone with four steals, leading this effort.
Kevin de Kovachich stood out, scoring 12 points, including three three-pointers. Donte Bacchus added 10 points, while Dallas Howell contributed with eight points and five rebounds.
Game Breakdown
In the first half, de Kovachich grabbed the spotlight with an early steal leading to a three-pointer. However, Clemson found their rhythm, finishing the half with 50% shooting. UNA struggled, shooting just 32.3% overall and only making two three-point attempts.
The second half was a different story. The Lions began strong, with Jamal Albritton scoring timely baskets after Williams left the game injured. UNA continued to perform better, especially from their bench, outpacing Clemson’s turnovers.

Historically, Clemson has dominated matchups against ASUN schools, and this game was no different. They improved to 14-2 against the conference and maintained their perfect record against the Lions, marking the first meeting between the two programs.
