Seahawks fans are feeling anxious about the team’s running back situation this season. But General Manager John Schneider is confident. With Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker now with Kansas City and Zach Charbonnet still recovering, what’s next for Seattle’s running game?
Schneider believes they can find talent elsewhere. “Running backs are a position where you can discover hidden gems,” he shared during an interview on Seattle Sports.
He also highlighted the talent already on the roster. Camden Akers and George Holani are ready to step up, and the team recently added Emmanuel Wilson from the Green Bay Packers. Schneider is enthusiastic about their potential. “Cam is outstanding, and George did a great job. We’re really excited about Emmanuel,” he said.
Regarding Charbonnet’s recovery from his January ACL injury, Schneider reassured fans. “He’s making good progress,” he noted. Kenny McIntosh is still with the team too. After a strong 2024 season, he faced his own setback with an ACL injury last year.
“I understand the fans’ concerns,” Schneider acknowledged. “But we know where we stand.”
In recent stats, around 60% of running backs who suffer ACL injuries return to form within a year. This could bode well for both Charbonnet and McIntosh, offering hope for the Seahawks’ running game.
It’s clear that Schneider is seeking depth and skill in the backfield. Fans, while anxious, have reason to be optimistic as the season approaches. For more insights on player recoveries and team strategies, check out reports from ESPN and NFL.com.
