Unlocking PS Plus ‘Badges’: Clarifying the Confusion Surrounding Member Rewards – PlayStation LifeStyle

Sony recently introduced new personalized PS Plus “badges” to celebrate the service’s 15th anniversary. These badges indicate how long subscribers have been members, but many are finding that their badges display incorrect information.

You can find these badges in the PS Plus section on your console. When you click on the 15th anniversary tab, your badge should appear. However, some users, including myself, are seeing discrepancies. For instance, my badge claims I’ve been a member for just one year, despite being with PS Plus for over a decade.

To see if others had similar issues, I checked out Reddit. It turns out many players are facing the same problem. One user humorously mentioned that their badge showed 15 years, even though they never owned a PS3. Another player reported their badge reading just one year, despite being a long-time subscriber. Many others noted they couldn’t see their badges at all.

Interestingly, I’ve maintained the same Essential tier membership throughout and have never downgraded or changed my plan. Even so, the badge still seems wrong.

This mix-up isn’t entirely surprising. Sony has had a history of inaccuracies with user stats. In fact, many gamers have shared similar experiences regarding incorrect playtime and other tracking metrics over the years.

As the industry evolves, companies like Sony continue to engage with their user base, although sometimes they miss the mark. It’s a reminder of how important it is for brands to ensure their services work seamlessly, especially when celebrating milestones.

So, here’s to PS Plus on its 15th anniversary! It might not have gone perfectly, but the community is still laughing and sharing their experiences together.
