Unlocking Secrets: Upcoming Balance Changes in Hunt: Showdown Update 2.3 – Developer Insights Revealed!

Update 2.3 Overview for Hunters

Hey, Hunters!

We’re rolling out Update 2.3 soon, and it brings some important balance changes. We listened to your feedback to make the game more fair and diverse. Let’s break down what’s new!

Equipment Changes

  • The Krag rifle now holds 10 rounds instead of 12, and it costs 450 Hunt Dollars. This change encourages players to try different weapons. The Berthier and Mosin Obrez have also been adjusted, with the Berthier being the strongest carbine and the base Obrez being the weakest. We want to make these alternatives more appealing compared to full-size rifles.

  • The Uppercut handgun is now cheaper, down to 310 Hunt Dollars. It’s a popular sidearm, but we adjusted the price to better reflect its power after recent changes to damage and ammo. The Haymaker saw a similar price drop from 370 to 279 Hunt Dollars.

  • You’ll now need three Bear Traps to kill an enemy Hunter, which means players will need to be creative with their traps or use tools found in the game.

  • Melee Tools are now more effective against bosses and wild targets, and we’ve added more melee weapons around boss lairs.

  • Pulling projectiles from monsters or Hunters will deal more damage, rewarding brave players who get up close.

  • The Vetterli has improved firing speed with the Iron Eye Trait. The Centennial’s rate of fire has been slightly reduced, balancing both weapons during aiming.

  • Players can now disarm and store Dark Dynamite Satchels in their inventory.

  • We’ve shortened the effects of Stamina Shots and Regeneration Shots.

  • The Revive Bolt is being removed permanently. We’ve listened to your concerns about balance and clarity and decided it’s best to take it out for good. If you have any in your inventory, we’ll reimburse you.

Trait Adjustments

  • The Lightfoot Trait will no longer allow silent crouching for solo Hunters. This change is to ensure greater gameplay balance since silent movement can make it hard for others to detect nearby players.

  • The Surefoot Trait is more costly now, going up to 6 Upgrade Points and no longer offers faster crouch speed.

  • The Fast Fingers Trait has been added to the Martini-Henry IC1 and Maynard Sniper families. This allows some guns to benefit more from the Trait.

  • The Bolt Thrower Trait now applies to the Bomb Lance and Bomb Launcher, a change many players have requested.

  • Conduit now gives solo Hunters double stamina rewards and progresses two Clue steps with one action.

Bug Fixes & Weekly Challenges

We’ve also tackled several bugs that needed attention, including issues with poison damage and sound traps.

Additionally, our Weekly Challenges will now vary from week to week. This aims to reduce the dominance of particular weapons, encouraging a more varied gameplay experience.

Update 2.3 launches on March 26th, 2025. We’re excited about these changes and look forward to enhancing your gaming experience. Enjoy!
