Case Western Reserve University has launched an exciting new resource called the AI in Education initiative hub. This hub is like a toolkit for everything related to artificial intelligence at CWRU. It gathers important news, events, and updates about how AI is becoming part of the university’s teaching and research.
As AI continues to change many fields, CWRU is making sure its community can thrive in this new landscape. The hub offers various courses and tools to help everyone, no matter their experience level, build their AI skills.
“AI shapes how we teach, learn, and do research today. We want our community to be ready for these changes,” said Provost Joy K. Ward. “This initiative helps prepare our students and faculty to use AI wisely and ethically.”
The AI hub features several key areas designed to assist everyone at CWRU:
- AI Skills Building: From beginner tips to advanced learning, this section helps users grow their AI knowledge.
- AI Tools & Resources: Access a variety of AI tools, including a prompt library, to support innovative learning and problem-solving.
- AI Policies: Offers guidelines and best practices for using AI responsibly and ethically, aligning with the university’s values.
These resources enable the CWRU community to confidently use AI in their studies and work while maintaining ethical standards.
Jeff Capadona, vice provost for innovation, emphasized the importance of this initiative.
“AI is changing how we see education and research,” Capadona said. “This hub provides the tools our community needs to lead with responsibility.”
Beyond campus, AI tools will also be available to alumni and community members through places like Kelvin Smith Library, Sears think[box], Wade Park Community Engagement Center, and the Siegal Lifelong Learning program. This expansion ensures that local professionals and lifelong learners can benefit from advanced AI resources and tools.
Looking ahead, the hub plans to grow even more. While it’s currently focused on education and tools, there are plans to add resources related to AI in research. Led by Senior Vice President for Research Michael Oakes, this future enhancement will provide specialized support for researchers, demonstrating the university’s commitment to innovation.
