Unlocking the Future: Google Gemini Now Available on Wear OS Through the Play Store!

Google recently started updating Wear OS with its new assistant, Gemini. Some users already have access, and the rollout is ongoing. The update changes the existing Assistant app to “Google Gemini on Wear OS.” You can check out the updated app in the Play Store.

As of now, the stable version of the app is 1.21.49.763997078, released in June. This update includes a small build but moves some users to version 1.22.5.780344288, which activates Gemini. While only a limited number currently have it, all Wear OS 4+ devices, like the Pixel Watch and models from Samsung and OPPO, will soon have full access.

The new Gemini interface introduces a modern four-color logo. Users will find updated complications and a Tile to manage their actions. Interestingly, the UI now says “Ask Gemini” rather than “Ask Google Gemini.”

According to a Google support article, Gemini performs features similar to the Assistant. You can:

• Control your exercise: Simply say, “start my run” to begin an activity.
• Get live health metrics: Check your heart rate or step count by asking directly.

This update is a part of the July 2025 Pixel Drop, which introduces several new features to keep users engaged. Similar mini updates have happened before with Gemini, such as in April’s live camera mode. Such frequent updates show how Google is modernizing its devices and services.

What’s fascinating is the public’s reaction. Many users have expressed excitement about Gemini on social media, sharing tips on how to maximize its capabilities. For example, a recent survey indicated that 68% of users prefer voice interaction for fitness tracking, making Gemini’s features timely and relevant.
