Unlocking the Future of Gaming: How New Hat Technology Makes Final Fantasy XIV More Playable Than Ever!

The cat and bunny folks in Final Fantasy 14 Online (FF14) are finally getting the headgear options they’ve wanted! At a recent Letter from the Producer Live stream, Square Enix announced that Hrothgar and Viera characters will be able to wear the headgear they like in the upcoming Patch 7.3.

Since their introduction in the Shadowbringers expansion, Hrothgar and Viera have had limited options for headgear. With their unique ears, some hats just wouldn’t fit. But that’s about to change! Square Enix promises more headgear options, including helmets, in future updates. Players are hopeful this means they’ll finally get to wear some of those paid cosmetic outfits.

This announcement is exciting, but it’s just one of many updates coming in Patch 7.3, titled "The Promise of Tomorrow." This patch will wrap up the Dawntrail story arc and is set to launch in early August.

The developers also teased some new content. Players can look forward to an allied society scenario featuring the Yok Huy, a brand-new level 100 expert dungeon called The Meso Terminal, and an unnamed trial with both normal and extreme settings. There will be a new 24-player raid named San d’Oria: The Second Walk, and an Unreal trial against Seiryu in The Wreath of Snakes. Additionally, a new Deep Dungeon called Pilgrim’s Traverse will be introduced.

Despite all this new content, the biggest relief for fans may just be the end of the long wait for hats for Hrothgar and Viera.

Final Fantasy 14 Online is available on multiple platforms: Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
