Lucas Mitchell, an elementary school teacher, is excited to share his passion for trading cards with the community through Collect-A-Con 2025. This event will take place on Saturday, March 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Vernon Elks Lodge.
Mitchell’s love for collecting cards began in his childhood, and he hopes to inspire young collectors and fellow enthusiasts. “This will mainly be a card show featuring sports cards, Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh,” he explained. Plus, there will be collectibles, sports memorabilia, and plushies, making it a fun day for all.
Admission to the event is free, and everyone is welcome. Mitchell encourages kids to come and see why trading cards have been a beloved hobby for so many around the world. He believes that the future of this hobby relies on the involvement of younger collectors.
“I’ve introduced my love for cards to some of my students at Okanagan Landing Elementary, the same school I attended,” he shared. “I’d like to see this event become a regular thing. The more people who come, the more shows we can host.”
Collect-A-Con 2025 will feature over 20 vendors ready to buy, sell, and trade cards. They’ll also offer free goodies for kids to help spark interest in the hobby. “Bring your own cards to trade or sell. It’s a perfect chance to get your cards evaluated and chat with seasoned collectors,” Mitchell added.
