Jennifer Jenkins and James Boyle, co-directors of the Center for the Study of the Public Domain at Duke University, highlight the importance of Public Domain Day. They note, “1930 was a long time ago. Most works from that year are hard to find. When they enter the public domain, anyone can share them again.” This gives these older works a second chance.
