Most of us answer “How are you?” with a vague “I’m fine.” But what does being well truly mean? This question will be front and center at the 2025 Yavapai County Mental Health Conference, where we’ll explore the many layers of wellness.
Understanding Wellness
This year’s theme is “Exploring Dimensions of Wellness.” Attendees will learn to navigate various aspects of wellness, finding resources to help ourselves and support others. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) emphasizes that true wellness involves a balance of social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical, environmental, financial, and occupational well-being.
James Tobin, the Community Health Services Section Manager, says this conference offers valuable insights: “Using evidence-based strategies, we’ll showcase diverse perspectives to uplift those advocating for mental health.”
Event Details
The conference will take place at the Prescott Resort on July 16th and 17th, 2025. Sponsored by Arizona Complete Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield, it promises two full days of education and networking.
Last year’s attendee, Sean Underhill, Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, shared his thoughts: “Meeting service providers in person was invaluable. It opened up new ways to support our community’s health.”
The Importance of Connection
Mental health is a growing concern, especially since recent statistics show that nearly 1 in 5 adults experience mental illness in any given year (National Alliance on Mental Illness). Such events foster connections that can lead to more comprehensive community support. Social media trends also highlight a rise in discussions around mental wellness, suggesting more people are prioritizing their mental health.
Registration Information
Registering online costs $75, which includes educational sessions and lunch for both days.
