WHATCOM COUNTY, WA – Lifestyle Lookout is back! After a short break, KGMI’s Adam Smith returns, ready to share all the exciting happenings in Whatcom County. Let’s dive in.

This weekend marks a big event: the 2025 Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden. It’s a fun-filled experience with a carnival, a dog show, and tasty food options. Although ZZ Top’s performance on Saturday is sold out, you can still grab tickets for Throwback Hip Hop Night on Friday, featuring Chingy, Ginuwine, and the Ying Yang Twins. Tickets are just $15 for adults and $10 for kids aged 6-12. For more details, visit nwwafair.com.

Another local favorite, the 2025 Noisy Waters Mural Festival, happens this weekend too! Running from Friday to Sunday by the waterfront, the festival features incredible mural painting, live music, and interactive demos. You can vote for your favorite mural, and winners will be announced Sunday at 2:30 p.m. More information is available on their site.

After the weekend fun, don’t miss Josh Turner at the Mount Baker Theatre on Tuesday, August 26, at 7:30 p.m. Turner is known for his authentic country sound and has a new album out, “This Country Music Thing.” He says, “This is who I am. I’ve never lost my love for this.” His dedication to country music is inspiring, as he adapts to changing trends while staying true to his roots.

If you’re up for some shopping, check out the Local Crafter’s Market at the Bellis Fair Mall this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. With 30 local vendors selling unique items, it’s a great way to support local artists. Inside the mall, you can browse comfortably, even if the weather isn’t great.

Live performances are also a highlight this weekend. Mostafa is returning to the Blue Room for an all-ages show on Friday, celebrating his birthday. He promises an energetic hip-hop experience along with DJ Will and other local talents. The show starts at 10 p.m., and tickets are available here.

On Sunday, head to the Shakedown for a night of folk and indie country music featuring Serafima and the Shakedowns, along with Shadow Basket, Sunflecks, and Dogwood. The show begins at 8 p.m., and tickets are available online.

With so much happening, this weekend offers a wonderful chance to enjoy local entertainment and culture. Whether you’re dancing to music or browsing handmade crafts, there’s something for everyone in Whatcom County!
