It’s that time of year for NFL fans when they get a peek behind the curtain of their favorite teams. The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) just released its annual report cards, where players rate their teams on various aspects of their experience.

This year’s report card is the third edition and saw feedback from nearly 1,700 players across the league. These players evaluated their teams on 11 different categories. Here’s what they focused on:

According to NFLPA chief strategy officer JC Tretter, the goal of these report cards is to help players make informed decisions about their careers and to raise standards throughout the league.

The Miami Dolphins once again topped the rankings, maintaining their first-place status from last year. They excelled in seven of the eleven categories, with owner Stephen Ross earning the highest ratings from players. The Dolphins also improved their locker room facilities, with players praising both the quality of the facilities and the positive atmosphere created by the team.

A significant rise this year came from the Washington Commanders. After a change in ownership, they jumped from last place to 11th. The team’s new head coach, Dan Quinn, received high marks and was credited with transforming the team’s culture for the better. Players noted improvements in areas such as food quality and family treatment, although they did mention the need for facility upgrades.

On the flip side, the Arizona Cardinals saw a dramatic drop from 27th to 32nd in rankings. Players reported poor conditions in both the locker room and training room. Many felt that the team’s facilities needed a significant overhaul, describing them as too small and outdated.

The New York Jets also faced challenges, falling sharply in the rankings. Issues both on and off the field affected morale, with players noting leadership problems and a lack of quality in their food program. They received an F for ownership, highlighting major concerns about how the team is run.

The New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were also in the bottom rankings, facing specific complaints about team travel and locker room cleanliness, respectively. Many players noted cramped conditions and lingering plumbing issues in the Buccaneers’ facilities.

Overall, this year’s report cards give a glimpse into life as an NFL player, highlighting areas of strength and those needing improvement. It’s a valuable tool for fostering better team environments across the league.
