In his speech, Trump made unfounded allegations about Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. He wrongly stated she is in the U.S. illegally and made derogatory comments about her home country, Somalia. Omar, who fled civil war as a child and became a U.S. citizen, has repeatedly refuted claims about her family.
