The newly launched Vande Bharat Sleeper train on the Howrah-Kamakhya route is a hit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated it on January 17 at Malda Town railway station in West Bengal. This semi-high-speed train is managed by the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR).

Since ticket bookings opened on January 20, demand has skyrocketed. Most tickets for the first commercial day, January 23, sold out in just hours. The IRCTC reported that even First AC tickets are now fully booked for the next week.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper train features three classes: Third AC, Second AC, and First AC. Ticket prices are set at ₹2,435 for Third AC, ₹3,145 for Second AC, and ₹3,855 for First AC.

This train departs Howrah at 18:20 and arrives in Kamakhya the next day at 08:20. The journey lasts about 14 hours and makes stops at 13 stations, including Bandel, New Jalpaiguri, and Rangiya.
