Eman El-Sheikh from the University of West Florida’s Center for Cybersecurity emphasizes that humans still play a crucial role in identifying potential scams. “Take a moment to breathe and assess the situation. Scammers often create a false sense of urgency,” she suggests.
She advises verifying unexpected phone calls by hanging up and calling back directly. Additionally, she stresses the importance of protecting personal information shared online. A clear understanding of privacy settings can mitigate risks associated with digital threats.
