Authorities in Santa Fe are looking into the deaths of actor Gene Hackman and his wife, pianist Betsy Arakawa. The couple, along with one of their dogs, were found dead in their New Mexico home. Hackman was 95, known for films like Superman and Bonnie and Clyde, while Arakawa was 65. They were discovered in separate rooms, leading to concerns about the circumstances surrounding their passing.

Initial reports suggest that foul play isn’t suspected. However, investigators described the situation as suspicious, requiring further investigation. A maintenance worker called police after noticing the front door to the home was ajar, and deputies found the couple’s bodies shortly after arriving.

Investigators are still waiting for toxicology results, which could take months. They did find medications, including thyroid medication and a planner for 2025 while searching the home.
