BIRMINGHAM, AL – Tulane’s men’s tennis team had an exciting weekend at the Blue Gray Invite. Their doubles duo, Daniel Phillips and Alec Gaudin, shined brightly, winning three out of four matches.

Over the weekend, the Green Wave faced Georgia Tech and Rice, clinching two victories out of three matches. Phillips and Gaudin started strong, winning 8-4 against North Alabama’s Lachlan Brain and Satori Nakajima.

On Saturday, Hady ElKordy put up a solid fight against Alabama’s Vit Kalina, finishing 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-3. In the Gray Draw, Phillips defeated Georgia Tech’s Richard Biagiotti 6-3, 6-3 and teamed up with Gaudin again for an 8-6 win over Biagiotti and Elias Shokry.

The next day, against Rice, Phillips overcame Rafael Botran in a tough match, winning 5-7, 7-6 (2), 6-2. He and Gaudin again showcased their teamwork with an 8-3 victory against Botran and partner Gabriel Porras.
