Unveiled: Exynos 2600 is the World’s First 2nm Smartphone Chip – What It Means for You!

Samsung has unveiled the Exynos 2600 chip, marking the world’s first 2nm mobile chip built with advanced technology. This new chip promises improved performance and efficiency, thanks to innovative heat transfer methods.

The Exynos 2600 features a 10-core CPU that includes Arm’s latest C1 Ultra and C1 Pro cores. It lacks power-efficient cores seen in older models. Instead, it boasts one high-speed C1 Ultra core at 3.8GHz, three C1 Pro cores at 3.25GHz, and six more at 2.75GHz. Samsung claims a 39% boost in overall performance compared to the previous Exynos 2500.

What’s more impressive is the built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU). It utilizes state-of-the-art security features like virtualization and Post-Quantum Cryptography. This offers a staggering 113% increase in AI performance, allowing for complex AI tasks directly on the device.

Graphics performance also sees a significant upgrade. The Exynos 2600 employs the Xclipse 960 GPU, delivering double the computing power of its predecessor and enhancing ray-tracing performance by 50%. This means a smoother gaming experience with smart power consumption, thanks to its Neural Super Sampling (ENSS) technology.

The image signal processor (ISP) supports impressive camera capabilities, allowing for 320MP sensor support and 108MP images without shutter lag. Users can also record 8K video or 4K at 120fps, while the AI-based Visual Perception System enhances image quality through real-time detection of elements like eye blinks.

Previous Exynos generations struggled with overheating issues, affecting performance. Samsung claims to have tackled this with their Heat Path Block (HPB) technology, which better dissipates heat, enabling sustained high performance under load.

This chip is designed for high-speed connectivity, and while it lacks built-in 5G support, it may use separate chips for connectivity. It supports UFS 4.1 storage and LPDDR5X RAM, allowing seamless 4K display performance at 120Hz.

Currently, the Exynos 2600 is in mass production and is likely to power the upcoming Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ expected in early 2026.
