Paramount’s head of news, Martin White, shared in an internal email that the change won’t affect staffing and isn’t a reflection of the daytime team’s efforts.

The Afternoon bulletin, which started in 2024, featured familiar faces and content similar to the lunchtime news. Meanwhile, the Late News bulletin will now air at 9:30 PM and extend to 60 minutes.

White emphasized the success of the Afternoon news over the past year and praised the team for their hard work. Viewer preferences play a big role in these decisions. According to recent industry reports, many networks are adjusting their programming based on what audiences want to see at various times. For instance, younger viewers tend to watch news in the evening rather than during the day, which has prompted many outlets to rethink their schedules.

In addition, some weekend bulletins will see minor changes. Channel 10’s news program will become half an hour long on 10 News+, while Sunday’s network segment will extend to 90 minutes, matching Saturday’s format.

As part of this transition, veteran presenter Chris Bath is set to leave at the end of the year. She has been commended for her commitment to Channel 10 over the last seven years. Georgie Tunny will take over weekend bulletins starting February 2026. Tunny, known for her roles on various media platforms, expressed her excitement about this new opportunity.
