Honor recently shared exciting images of its upcoming Magic 8 Pro flagship phone, set to launch next month in China. This model features a special AI button, marking a fresh addition to its design. Powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, it promises cutting-edge performance.
The Magic series is known for its high-end features. The Pro models usually debut in China before making their way to Europe, with prices often exceeding €1,000 (about $1,200). The Magic 8 Pro sticks to the classic design that fans loved in the previous model, with one noticeable change: the back is now flat instead of curved.
One of the standout features is the new AI button, located alongside the fingerprint sensor and volume controls. Though the specific functions of this button are still unclear, it hints at a focus on AI capabilities. Honor has also teased an AI feature named Magic Color, which allows users to style photos and videos based on a color palette from another image.
On the back, you’ll find a circular camera setup that appears to house four lenses, likely including three cameras and a depth sensor. Honor’s Chief Marketing Officer, Guo Rui, recently shared a camera sample from a powerful 200-megapixel lens, which should enhance zoom capabilities compared to previous models.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset is not just for the Magic 8 Pro. Xiaomi plans to utilize this same powerful chip in its upcoming Xiaomi 17 series.
Looking ahead, Honor is expected to announce both the Magic 8 and Magic 8 Pro at its launch event on October 15. They will also unveil the MagicPad 3 Pro, running on the same elite chipset. Rumors suggest more models may be in the pipeline, including the Magic 8 Ultra and Mini, scheduled for a 2026 release.
In today’s competitive smartphone market, brands are rapidly integrating AI into their devices. As user expectations grow, features like these could set the Magic 8 Pro apart. With ongoing advancements, staying informed can help you make smarter tech choices.
