Ralph Lauren’s American flag sweater is a true fashion icon. Now, he’s making waves again by partnering with the United States Postal Service to create a special stamp collection to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary.
The “American Icons” collection showcases 13 photos from Lauren’s archives. These images reflect the heart of America and its shared values. Among the pieces included are symbols like Jackie Robinson’s baseball glove, representing equality, and a rugged pickup truck, evoking hard work and honesty.
This collection will also feature a portfolio and postcard pack, along with a pin card, making it a unique tribute to what America stands for. It coincides with a limited-edition fashion line set to release in late 2025, inspired by American heritage.
“A stamp is small, but it carries deep meaning,” Lauren said. He believes every image, no matter how tiny, can convey big ideas. Whether it’s a foggy barn or a teddy bear, these images tap into emotions like nostalgia and comfort.
Born in the Bronx in 1939, Lauren was inspired by American lore. After serving in the U.S. Army, he launched his brand, creating a style that blends East Coast prep, Western ranch culture, and vintage military elements. His vision has dramatically influenced fashion and advertising over the years.
The capsule collection will feature items like the flag stamp on a sweater, classic Polo shirts, and caps, bringing American style to life. These will be available at select Ralph Lauren stores and Post Office locations, adding a special touch to any fashion lover’s collection.
The stamps will officially launch at an event on June 9 at the James A. Farley Post Office in New York City. Get ready to celebrate America with style and history!
