Unveiling the Dark: Diosual Entertainment & Medialand Production Join Forces for Groundbreaking True Crime Series

Exciting News in True Crime!

Two major Brazilian production companies, Diosual Entertainment and Medialand Production, are teaming up to create true crime documentaries and films. This partnership will produce several docuseries for pay-TV and free channels, reflecting the booming interest in true crime in Brazil.

The deal also involves Diosual’s distribution branch, which will promote Medialand’s content both nationally and internationally.

The true crime genre is gaining popularity in Brazil. Shows like Brazil: Elize Matsunaga and A Life Too Short: The Isabella Nardoni Case have caught the attention of audiences. Globally, true crime continues to thrive on streaming platforms.

Medialand, led by journalist Carla Alburquerque, is a key player in this genre. They created popular YouTube channels, Operação Policial and Investigação Criminal, boasting nearly 1.8 million subscribers. They’ve also produced content for Netflix and other major platforms.

Alburquerque has a strong background, having worked with companies like Viacom and TV Globo. She collaborates with Luis Guilherme de Sá, an expert in investigative content, to lead Medialand.

Diosual was founded in 2017 by Guto Colunga. They are known for films like Blood Mission and TV dramas like Whose Money Is It?. Besides production, Diosual also focuses on talent management and distribution.

“This partnership is important for us,” said Alburquerque. “Diosual brings valuable market insights, helping us extend our reach with investigative documentaries. Quality information is our goal, and working with Guto’s team will amplify our impact.”

Colunga shared his excitement, noting that this collaboration will blend Medialand’s true crime expertise with Diosual’s strengths in fiction. They plan to create both documentaries and scripted series based on real-life crimes. The talented pool at Diosual will be crucial in producing high-quality content.

Overall, this alliance is poised to enhance true crime storytelling in Brazil and beyond, offering audiences engaging and well-crafted productions.
