With the 2026 NFL Draft wrapped up, it’s time to take a fresh look at the New York Giants’ roster. While we haven’t seen practices yet, we can make educated guesses about the team composition.
### Quarterbacks
The Giants seem set with three QBs: Jaxson Dart, Jameis Winston, and Brandon Allen. There’s a chance they might pick up another player for training camp, but this looks like their room for the coming season.
### Running Backs
In the backfield, we have Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy, Devin Singletary, and fullback Patrick Ricard. Interestingly, the Giants didn’t add any new running backs in the draft, so they’ll lean on these players to carry the load.
### Wide Receivers
This is where things get interesting. The lineup includes Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton, Darnell Mooney, Calvin Austin, Malachi Fields, and Gunner Olszewski. A big question mark is Odell Beckham Jr. Will he join the mix? If so, Olszewski might be in trouble. The Giants could also carry seven receivers if they want to prioritize special teams.
### Tight Ends
For tight ends, we’re looking at Isaiah Likely, Theo Johnson, and Chris Manhertz. I initially wanted to include Thomas Fidone, but with Patrick Ricard in the fold, a fourth tight end seems excessive.
### Offensive Line
The projected starters are Andrew Thomas (LT), Jon Runyan (LG), John Michael Schmitz (C), Sisi Mauigoa (RG), and Jermaine Eleumunor (RT). Reserves include Marcus Mbow, Daniel Faalele, JC Davis, and Lucas Patrick. The drafting of Mauigoa and Davis has shifted the dynamics here, possibly leaving no room for players like Evan Neal or Josh Ezeudu.
### Defensive Line
The defensive line includes Darius Alexander, Roy Robertson-Harris, Shelby Harris, Bobby Jamison-Travis, Sam Roberts, Leki Fotu, and Chauncey Golston. As of now, the Giants haven’t landed D.J. Reader, which may not please fans.
### Linebackers
For linebackers, we have Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, Tremaine Edmunds, Arvell Reese, Micah McFadden, and Jack Kelly. Kelly’s inclusion might mean tough decisions for players like Muasau and McFadden as we head into the summer.
### Secondary
In the secondary, look for Paulson Adebo, Greg Newsome II, Colton Hood, Deonte Banks, Dru Phillips, Art Green, Jevon Holland, Tyler Nubin, Ar’Darius Washington, Jason Pinnock, and Elijah Campbell. The arrival of Hood could mean the end of Banks’ time with the Giants, proving that roster spots are always in flux.
### Special Teams
Finally, the kicking unit features punter Jordan Stout, placekicker Jason Sanders, and long snapper Zach Triner. However, the competition is heating up as the Giants also brought in former Michigan kicker Dominic Zvada. It seems unlikely they’ll keep three kickers.
### New Insights
Historically, the Giants have struggled with their offensive line, which has been a pain point for the team. In fact, a study showed that over the last decade, teams with better offensive lines tend to have a higher winning percentage.
As fan reactions on social media suggest, many are eager but cautious. Fans are optimistic about the prospect of Beckham returning, but they are also skeptical about whether the team has addressed its weaknesses adequately.
