In its quest for independence from OpenAI, Microsoft announced seven new AI models, including its first reasoning model, MAI-Thinking-1, which boasts 35 billion parameters designed for complex tasks.
Majorana 2: Quantum Computing Chip
Microsoft shared news about Majorana 2, its next-generation quantum computing chip. This chip promises improved accuracy with its qubits, potentially accelerating progress towards practical quantum computing by as early as 2029. Microsoft credits the advancements to a new material stack that improves performance significantly.
