Welcome to Rumor Replay! This column gives you the latest buzz about Apple products. This week, let’s dive into the gossip surrounding the iPhone 17, some updates about Siri, and a look at the Vision Pro.
iPhone 17: New Designs and Chips
This week was buzzing with news about the iPhone 17, even just after the iPhone 16e launch.
We spotted design mockups for the iPhone 17 Air and 17 Pro that show off striking new camera bars. However, the basic iPhone 17 is likely to stick with the camera setup seen in the iPhone 16.
In addition, reports say Apple is working on a new Wi-Fi chip for the entire iPhone 17 series, which follows the recent launch of their C1 modem.
My Thoughts
Seeing the dummy models gives a real sense of what the iPhone 17 will offer. The focus on camera design is bold and different. I find it interesting, especially the flash placement, and I can’t wait to see how it all works out.
The new Wi-Fi chip might not seem thrilling, but Apple’s recent advancements in battery life make this a compelling upgrade.
Siri Features Might Be Delayed
There’s been some buzz about the iOS 18.4 update, but it seems that the exciting new Siri features might not make the cut.
We were expecting updates that enhance Siri, such as better awareness and new actions. However, reports say some of these features might be pushed to iOS 18.5 due to technical issues.
My Thoughts
Apple’s plans for Siri sound very promising, so a delay isn’t a shock. It’s frustrating to wait, especially after such a long time since the initial announcement.
Given Siri’s reputation, I understand Apple’s caution about rushing these updates. Waiting a bit longer may ultimately be worth it.
Vision Pro to Feature AI Upgrades Soon
While iOS 18.4 seems to be lacking some features, there’s good news for Vision Pro users. Apple is set to bring AI capabilities to this device soon.
New features in visionOS 2.4, like AI writing tools and unique emoji options, are on the way. Siri improvements are also expected.
My Thoughts
It’s exciting to see that Vision Pro will soon receive significant updates. There’s no need to wait until the fall for visionOS 3.
Initially, there were doubts about whether Vision Pro could handle Apple Intelligence, but it seems the M2 chip is up for the challenge. I can’t wait to see the new Siri features on Vision Pro, whether they arrive in visionOS 2.4 or later.
