According to Shirogumi, the puppets were made of natural rubber, fur, and feathers. Unfortunately, they deteriorated quickly when exposed to air, so the decision was made to discard them.
These puppets represented key characters: Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, Peppy Hare, and Slippy Toad. They were featured in print ads and promotional materials but disappeared after that.
Interestingly, Nintendo revisited the puppet concept for Star Fox Zero on the Wii U. In a memorable presentation, the late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata and others transformed into puppets, adding a fun twist to the reveal.
Star Fox has been inactive for several years, but buzz is growing about a potential new game for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Fans are excited about the possibility of reuniting with these beloved characters.
