Head coach Howard Joffe expressed pride in the team’s growth, highlighting their potential as a young group still developing their skills. “I’m thrilled with how they performed today,” he said. “Even though we weren’t at full strength, this was a great opportunity to showcase our talent.”
During doubles play, Texas faced a tough start. Georgia’s No. 50 duo won the first match decisively at 6-0. But the Longhorns fought back: Herea and Ngijol-Carré won at No. 3 doubles, and Abbagnato alongside Salma Drugdova secured the No. 1 match, defeating the No. 8 ranked team.
In singles, Ngijol-Carré dominated her match, winning 6-0, 6-2 against No. 61 Sofia Rojas.
