The current situation allows for public feedback on these proposed changes, with Ohio residents being able to voice their opinions via email until January 21 at 5 p.m.

Critics of the work requirement system point to failures in other states. Georgia and Arkansas have attempted similar measures with disappointing results. In Arkansas, a federal ruling halted their program after thousands lost insurance. Georgia’s recent program, initiated in July 2023, has seen low enrollment rates, despite a high number of uninsured residents.
