Urgent Alert: Billions of iPhone Users Could Face Malware Threat from Newly Discovered Vulnerability!

Apple users need to act quickly. A serious flaw, dubbed “AirBorne,” has been discovered that could let hackers access your devices. This vulnerability allows them to install malware, steal personal information, or even listen in on your conversations while connected to the same WiFi network, like in coffee shops or airports.

To protect yourself, make sure all your Apple devices, especially those using AirPlay, are updated with the latest software. If you’re not using AirPlay, it’s a good idea to turn it off completely. Even devices you think are inactive, like an old Bluetooth speaker, could be used by hackers to get into your network.

Gal Elbaz, cofounder of the cybersecurity firm Oligo, emphasizes the seriousness of the situation. “Many devices relying on AirPlay might take years to receive updates, if they get updated at all,” he said. “The flaws stem from vulnerabilities in one piece of software that affects a variety of devices.”

There are 23 identified flaws within Apple’s AirPlay protocol, impacting everything from smart TVs to car systems. While Apple is rolling out fixes, many third-party devices may remain vulnerable if their manufacturers do not issue patches.

Even if your iPhone is fully updated, older gadgets connected to your network can act as weak points for hackers. Elbaz warns, “If a hacker gains access to any device on your network, they can exploit that to reach everything else.”

Patrick Wardle, a cybersecurity expert and CEO of DoubleYou, also highlighted that if manufacturers delay or skip updates for their products, it can erode user trust in the Apple ecosystem. “Once third-party manufacturers use Apple technologies like AirPlay, Apple loses control over their hardware and patching process,” he noted.
