Urgent Appeal: Help Identify Woman in Wichita Abduction Caught on Camera

Wichita police are seeking help from the community to find a woman seen in a troubling home surveillance video. The footage shows her being taken forcefully by an unidentified man early Sunday morning.

A homeowner in northeast Wichita shared the video captured by a Ring doorbell camera. It showed a man grabbing a woman and pulling her away around 2 a.m. The police quickly stated they need assistance in identifying both individuals.

At a news conference, Police Chief Joe Sullivan emphasized the importance of prioritizing the woman’s safety. “Our main concern is her welfare,” he stated, urging anyone with information to come forward.

To encourage tips, Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward. Investigators have already canvassed the neighborhood and analyzed license plate data but haven’t found any leads. They have also checked missing persons reports since October 1.

Captain Todd Ojile shared that while police received nine tips, none have been helpful so far. He reassured the public, noting there appears to be no ongoing threat to the community.

The police are now collaborating with regional and federal agencies to closely analyze the video for additional clues. As the situation develops, community support could be crucial in identifying the individuals involved.
