Urgent Push: GOP Senator Calls for National Archives to Release All Documents on Biden’s Health Status

Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin is pushing the National Archives to release records about President Joe Biden’s health. He recently wrote to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is currently the acting U.S. archivist, claiming he’s investigating a potential cover-up regarding Biden’s health issues.

In his letter, Johnson noted, “My office has been reviewing the allegations that former President Biden, cabinet members, and his staff covered up his declining mental and physical health.” This investigation gained traction after Hunter Biden mentioned on a podcast that his father took Ambien before a key presidential debate. However, Biden’s medical records do not list Ambien as part of his prescriptions.

Hunter Biden described his father’s debate performance as shaky, saying, “He gets up on stage and looks like he’s a deer in headlights.” Biden later attributed his lack of energy during the debate to jet lag and a cold, stating, “I didn’t have an infection; I just had a really bad cold.” His former Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, echoed this sentiment, referring to it as a “bad night.”

Recently, reports surfaced that the White House Counsel’s Office and the Department of Justice (DOJ) are also looking into Biden’s use of an autopen for signing documents. So far, the National Archives has handed over over 27,000 documents, but Johnson asserts that many more exist that could shed light on Biden’s health.

Johnson has specifically requested documents from key figures like Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s former physician, and attorney Bob Bauer, emphasizing the need for comprehensive information. He has given Rubio until July 30 to respond to his request.

This inquiry highlights ongoing concerns about transparency in government regarding the health of leaders. According to a recent survey by the Pew Research Center, 62% of Americans believe that politicians should disclose their health records to the public.
