GASTONIA, N.C. – A recall was announced over the weekend for certain ground beef products at a Food Lion store in Gaston County. This situation affects ground beef that was prepared in-store at the Food Lion on New Hope Road.
The recall, issued on Saturday, March 1, involves three ground beef varieties that may contain unwanted materials. Here’s a list of the affected products:
- 73% Lean Fresh Ground Beef (all sizes)
- 80% Lean Fresh Ground Chuck (all sizes)
- 93% Lean Fresh Ground Beef (all sizes)
The problematic beef was made after 1 p.m. on March 1, 2025, and has a Sell By date of March 3, 2025. The specifics regarding the foreign material have not been disclosed, so it’s important to be cautious.
If you bought any of these products, do not consume them. Instead, you can return the beef to the Food Lion store for a refund, which will be double the original purchase price.
Note that only the Food Lion on New Hope Road is affected by this recall. Other locations are not impacted.
